Brian Jones, RIP

We are sad to tell you that Brian Jones, died on Sunday 10 January, after contracting Coronavirus. Brian was an allotment committee member who worked tirelessly and quietly behind the scenes, especially during the last difficult year, to help keep Weald afloat.

You might not have known him, but he was one of the people who kept the Memorial Garden looking trim, he donated vegetables to the Community Fridge almost every week and he had a wicked sense of humour that often had the rest of us in stitches. Almost Brian’s last act was to help Terry and Heidi build the Weald Community Food Centre polytunnel so we can keep growing food year round for the Community Fridge. He will be sorely missed.
