Hungry this winter

It’s going to be another tough winter in Sussex. Cuts in Universal Credit and the already intensely cold weather have made life hard for many people. Brighton and Hove Food Partnership are running their crowd-funder again this year. You can find it at: https://www.crowdfunder.co.uk/hungry-this-winter – and if you’d like to support the fundraiser, the money is divided proportionally between all the organisations taking part, including the Weald Community Fridge.

Last year’s #hungrythiswinter helped us purchase staple foods that we distributed alongside supermarket surplus, to ensure that the most needy in our community had enough to eat. It’s a fantastic initiative that works with local frontline organisations and helps keep our city fed in the most challenging months of the year.
